Prime Minister’s of Estonia Jüri Ratas inscription:
The monograph on the life Konstantin Päts, written by Toomas Karjahärm and Ago Pajur, was presented in Pärnu. The publication of this book is a tribute to Estonia`s most famous great man, and a worthy gift to Estonia in honour of its centennial.
The two volume major work “Konstantin Päts. A Political Biography” provides a comprehensive review, relying on a diverse range of sources, of the life of Estonia`s first head of state and president.
The authors of the book are well-known historians, Toomas Karjahärm, PhD and Ago Pajur, PhD, who note in the summary of the book: “Konstantin Päts was not an angel or an infallible pope, in the same regard he was not Satan or a nation betraying Judas, instead he was human, with all of the accompanying shortcomings and virtues. He was set apart from regular people by his incredible contribution, which he gave to the development of the Estonian state – the good and the bad. It is up to each individual to develop their own attitude towards Päts and his actions, but there is one thing that cannot be denied – Konstantin Päts was an influential statesman”.
